Doctor Lorrick
Doctor Lorrick is the final boss in lost island and can be quite tough. Heavy dps is required for hard mode. This is a 3 phase fight, with the first phase being the roughest to get through.
Phase 1: The boss has 3 main abilities and a couple interesting mechanics in this phase.
Flurry of Bolts- Channeled Rapid Shots that can be interrupted and should be when possible.
Poison Nova- The boss will throw out poison novas frequently through the fight that apply a stacking debuff that does internal damage over time. This effect persists through the fight in hard mode and can cause many issues if not avoided. More will appear each time the longer this phase lasts.
Satchel Charge- A Frontal Cone ability that applys a debuff on each person that gets hit by it. The tank can "Juke" the boss to avoide a couple of these sometimes. You can have multiple of this debuff on you at once, non-stacking. When the debuff expires it will explode on the target dealing ~5.5k damage on a juggernaut tank in hard mode. Heals will be required. After he casts this the poison on the floor will disappear and he will go behind a kolto tank.
Kolto Tanks: The boss will go behind a kolto tank to activate it several times during the fight. The tanks he chooses are counter clockwise around the room and increase in health and difficult as phase 1 goes on. These tanks are target-able and should be burned asap. When the boss finishes his ~8 second cast the tank will explode and one of his assistants will be released. It will come out with the same amount of health as was left on the tank. The adds use an ability called ravage which slows whoever it attacks and will be a huge issue paired with the poison novas. Tanks should stun these while the dps finishes them off. Once down continue with phase one. He will repeat this process over and over until he reaches 40% hp.
Phase 2: The boss will stun nearby targets then jump to a random party member. He will then cast ravage which does damage and stuns his target. It should be interrupted immediately. In hard mode flaming rakgouls will come out that will move very slowly and leave a path of fire. Move the boss and kite these to avoid this. If a rakgoul reaches someone they will be pinned down and take damage. This is an easy phase, burn to 10% to move into the third and final phase.
Phase 3: The boss will go immune at 10%, heal to full health, and change form to be a large rakgoul. This is a burn phase and all cooldowns should be blown to take him down. The boss takes increased damage and explodes often dealing AoE damage than can not be avoided reasonably. He will drop aggro every ~8 seconds and jump to a new target. The tank should taunt when possible and dps/healers should pop defensive CDs to help. Once he is dead you can collect your loot. Congratulations, you just finished Lost Island!
Note: This boss drops a Rakata Chest token and Columi Mainhand Token in HM and (from my experience) a Tionese level offhand in normal mode. Also, the new rakgoul conflicts quest awards 8 Black Hole Commendations.
