M1-4X

The location of this NPC is unknown.

M1-4X is a highly advanced war droid designed and built specifically to serve in Havoc Squad. As such, his engineers programmed him to be a perfect soldier: completely loyal, fervently patriotic, and willing and eager to go to any length or face any risk in order to destroy the Republic's enemies.

M1-4X's armor plating, weapons systems and processing power are significantly advanced over typical military droid standards, due in large part to his unusual power core. Constructed by an unknown group or organization, the core was recovered during a classified operation and has output capabilities far beyond conventional models.

He's not ranged DPS, he's a tank by default.
His sentry process ability doubles threat, and is toggled on by default, so his intent is definitely not DPS.
He's unfortunately SOMEWHAT squishy tho, i bought him 2 epic tanky motors and some various upgrades and just, eh. hes pretty much going to lose 1/3rd of his health on any non-4-pud-pull.
His personality makes his sub-par tanking worth tolerating though. He's an insane, zealous, super republic patriot. He pulled me aside and volunteered to take on imperial targets on the side since we could only kill so many when we're together as a team....
....best robot ever.

You receive this companion on Nar Shadaa.

It is a ranged Tank. It uses heavy armor/droid parts and a blaster rifle.

Insane and zealous is putting it mildly. One of his killing-blow lines is "Thus to all who threaten galactic liberty!", reminiscent of John Wilkes Booth's line (quoting Virginia's official state motto) when he assassinated Lincoln, "Thus always to tyrants." I get the feeling if we had the opportunity to just go pop the Sith Emperor in the head -- possibly jumping out of a theater balcony -- this droid would have nooooo hesitation.

As a Vanguard I always used Elara as active companion (she heals) but since I maxed Elara's afection I decided to switch to Forex.
Best decision ever! At least for PvE...
- Free 4 all during normal pulls
- Tennis against elites

I also love his conversations... he is such an extremist!

You know, Vanguards don't actually have to suffer through subpar combat ability ... just summon him before you start the conversations. All the posts practically imply the two are linked.

He is voiced by Tom Kane, if he sounds familiar, he does the narration for the clone wars TV show on Cartoon Network, as well as the voice of Yoda in pretty much everything except the movies.

Customizations 1 and 2 can be purchased from The Security Key Vendor, Captain Kneely, on the Republic Orbital Station at Ilum.

The gift info listed above for Cultural Artifact is incorrect, it should be 1 Star.

You start getting Droid parts on Taris for some reason. I found that quite odd

Its for the ship droid. Yes, some people actually use him.....for whatever reason, I've seen people running around with it. I guess they really want a healer following them around.

This bot is indeed squisy in the beginning and he is hard to get strong. but with that said. Credits is made easy in this game so go on AH and get some hardcore upgrades and you´ll find out that this guy ain´t so bad at all. he is weak in the beginning cause as he says when you defeat him you break his inner core and he will grow with new combat experience and levels so as time goes by he grows stronger.
On the other hand he is too prefer for commandoes and not vangaurds but thats just my opinion.
And then again he looks and moves amazin.

I also found this guy pretty squishy out of the box. My Commando is Combat Medic spec, and so far I've found it easier to quest with Aric, who is moderately sturdy and does better DPS. Ranged DPS troopers might prefer this guy though.

I believe all droid companions are ranged tanks.
If you level up your cybertech, all high level droid armor have shield/absorption/defense ratings on them.

Yes you get it on Nar Shadaa. You get him as part of the end of the class quest on Nar Shadaa.

Squishiness aside, it has to be said. He looks bulky, strong, and typically Over-the-top with guns. He may be the run in for most beefy companion. Not best looking, that goes to Vette.
