This is a boss if you kill the Captian. Yes start if off on the left door then move to the right door, the boss will step up and attack. Just avoid the droids that will spawn and float around.

We had our tank pull away from the initial area where the boss spawned over to the ramps leading down to the area. Meanwhile, our primary ranged dps would focus down droids as they spawned or when no exploding droids were threatening our group return fire on the boss. It was easy to kill the droids before they made it to our melee classes this way.

HARD MODE
Kill the droids from the left door first then the right door before you engage the boss.
Tank Interrupt full auto to help out the healer.
To avoid the enrage it's best to run away from the droids and let them blow up away from the tank if you are melee or move left or right away from them if you are ranged.
It's much easier to run and DPS down the boss.

And easy boss. Basically Tank n Spank.
He will call down some probe droids during this fight which will explode after a few seconds. Make sure to either kite him around, or have a healer who can heal through the AOE.
I recommend killing the droids the enter through the blast doors on the left and the right before attacking the boss, or your have 6 additional adds to deal with during the fight too.
