Nadia Grell

The location of this NPC is unknown.

A native of distant Sarkhai and daughter of Senator Tobas Grell, Nadia Grell is a newcomer not only to the Republic, but to the entire concept of space exploration. Surrounded by new species and strange cultures, Nadia is eager to experience everything she can. She has become interested in the intricacies of galactic diplomacy while traveling alongside her father, and often acts as his assistant during talks.

As she revealed on Attis Station, Nadia is also strong in the Force; unusually strong, in fact. As Force sensitives are relatively unknown on Sarkhai, Nadia's untrained powers left her shunned and feared by her own people. Senator Grell's decision to take her with him when he left Sarkhai was motivated by the hope of finding others like her in the Republic, and perhaps discovering some way for her to control her incredible talents.

You receive this companion on Belsavis.

She is melee DPS. She uses light armor and a double-sided lightsaber.

"Revan believed Jedi could be taught to use positive emotions like love and happiness to strengthen their connection to the Force in the same way that hatred and anger gave power to those who followed the dark side."

I will follow this theory in the game, you know, just to strengthen my connection to the Force :P

Well, she is a light side character, so you pretty much have to go light side to romance her. However, I would think that starting a romance with your padawan would be a dark side choice... catch 22?

Just to clarify(because I was confused by some of the comments here), you don't actually get her until after the very end of the Belsavis class quests and after you go to another spaceship. If you don't rush to her, then you'll probably end up getting her around level 43-45.

You actually find out in game (from a place you'd least expect it) that Jedi are allowed to marry in the current era, but only with permission.

Personal Note: I am a little disappointed that this character isn't murderous, slightly insane, and has a thing for butlers. D: But what can you expect from a Jedi companion xD {Don't mind my ramblings ? 50 Geek Points if you know what I'm talking about!}

She gains affection very quickly it seems. I hit max with her quicker than I expected.

SPOILERS: I did not choose the 'marry me' option when presented, and it appears so far that was the last conversation chance I will have with her -- thus we are probably not marrying at all any more, but we did everything up to that point.

So this is the only female character a consular gets? I only have one choice as far as romancing goes? Lame.

No offence but I'm a dude who likes chicks...not dudes and lizards. So sue me. =)

For those still wondering as there does not seem to have been a clear answer posted, you can both romance and marry Nadia whether you are light or dark. If you are light it will certainly be quicker but dark siders can use companion gifts to get her affection up as well. The romance conversations you have with her reward neither dark nor light side points.

Actually, I am still lacking on my lore, but we should be at the end of the time when jedi were actually permitted to have a girl friend because they wanted to breed new force sensitives to rebuild the order seeing as there was only a dozen or so of them left. (making a lot of the current jedi the descendants of jedi) If I remember right we should now be at a time point were they have turned the no relationships rule back on, but still look the other way unless you start doing something stupid. (is a whole article on it in the wookieepedia but I can't remember the details any more)

I just got her so i don't know how it'll go further, but she did seem to like killing her fathers killer good enough. And some other dark choices i made did go well with her as well.

I suggest not spending any gifts on her at all. She gains affection at a ridiculous rate (minimum 102) as long as you choose any good, helpful conversation option and you can easily max out her affection by corellia. If you're playing a DPS and can't use her because of her squishness as you can't heal her like a healer sage, simply summon her out before conversations, choose the correct affection responses and after the conversation just summon your regular companion.

AFAICT, every class/gender combination gets exactly one possible romance option, even if you have more than one companion of the species and gender that your toon finds exciting when nekkid. Consulars aren't gimped in this regard. Either love the one you're with, or go it alone.

This is false. There are classes that get multiple romance options, though never more than two as far as I know.

Consulars, however, only have one choice regardless of gender. Female consulars can attempt to romance Theran Cedrax (sp?) but it will always fail. Iresso is their only real romance option. Likewise, Nadia is the only option for male consulars, and in fact the only female companion for them at all.

I find she's a better tank than Qyzen as a healer, she does tons of dps and while she drops faster, the superb dps and abilities make up for it.

Is there anyway to have a light side romance with Nadia?

Is it possible to pick a conversation option with her that locks you out of the romance option permanently?

Two notes:

First, the "polesaber" mentioned in the codex (and copied to the Torhead description) apparently got renamed to electrostaff everywhere else in the game. So that's a weapon option... assuming you can convince a Jedi to use something other than a lightsaber (yahright, why those are even in the game is beyond me).

Secondly,

So this is the only female character a consular gets? I only have one choice as far as romancing goes? Lame.

AFAICT, every class/gender combination gets exactly one possible romance option, even if you have more than one companion of the species and gender that your toon finds exciting when nekkid. Consulars aren't gimped in this regard. Either love the one you're with, or go it alone.

Patch 2.0 could replace her weapon with a tiny pair of scissors. ;)

I was VERY disappointed by this romance. It was so poorly written. It's prolly because you get her so late so they tried to speed up with the quests and affection. She is cute and all by I really felt like it was very shallow..?I am playing a smuggler atm and romance is way better,it's touching. They put an effort in it.
And no light/dark side doesn't matter at all.You get a !@#$load of affection from conversations with Nadia/or from missions so you don't have to worry about that.

You must be male to get the full effect of the courting gifts. Female characters do not get the courting bonus. You will only get 1 star of courting gifts, not 3.
This needs to be added by the courting 3 star effect as (Male Only).

SPOILERS:

Well i rushed thru the storyline to get her.. I have done all other quests on Belsavis with her and gave her a lot of gifts. After 2 days I got 10K/10K affection... We married and i DID NOT received any darkside points (I am light IV without single darkside point) so far.. which is odd.. Also i got one companion gift grade 1 from her.. I excpected something more :/

Gains affection very quickly,i just hit lvl 47 and im on Corellia atm, I have nearly 7.8K affection with her, much more then expected, probably end up with full affection at the end of Corellia. Have in mind you need to be light side and use her for every conversation.

By MasterAphotic at 2012-01-24 05:23:55

Like others have mentioned: You get Nadia Grell after defeating Stark: http://www.torhead.com/npc/cIHq7Lq/stark#comments after leaving Belsavis class mission. Your consulars level will be about lvl 43-44. Since she is a love interest I went with the flow myself, but didn't choose to marry. We had the kissing scene. After that, we didn't have alot of conversations after. I think that it might be bugged because sometimes when I am at a resting zone, there is a indication that she wants to talk to me in private. But yet nothing happens when I do try to talk to her in private. You get most affection by giving her Courting and Cultural Artifact gifts.

I really appreciate my companion even if she isn't my main one when tanking. But she is perfect for extra dps in groups, or if you want to kill mobs faster when soloing. She have a tendancy to go "crazy" mode and nuke everything she see, so keep an eye on where she attacks and what ability that are active. (although alot of her abilitys seems to go back to what is pre-set)

I hope we will be able to turn off the companions head slot in the future. Some really don't fit well with the rest of her outfit.

the time your thinking of is after all the movies, when luke rebuilds the order. Even when anakin was part of the order love was forbidden
-2
By Yrayl at 2011-12-19 16:05:46
Yeah seeing as Luke got married and has a kid lol. Prior to the Fall of the Republic the official Jedi policy was No Romance (although several Jedi were married it was kept hush hush and the only people to know about it were their padawans and Yoda pretty much i.e. Vergere's master - who apparently had several husbands and children throughout the extraordinarily long life she had - and the Jedi that Anakin helps in the book immediately prior to Revenge of the Sith).

It's a lot easier once you realize that the boss' aoe ability heals him. I think it's called Death Field or something similar. Basically when he starts channeling interrupt/knockback if you can or just run out of it. He rofl stomped me for ages until i realized that, then i beat him like a red headed step child.

By jamplans at 2011-12-23 01:47:31
There are several instances of Jedi who marry and don't have any problems (T'ra Saa and Tholme for instance). The *fear* of love can be seen as a contradiction of the Jedi Code. It's typically younger or more maverick Jedi who have trouble with Love.
-3
By cyvaris at 2011-11-24 20:28:54

Yep she is your Padawan and love interest...which is sort of creepy. You get her sort of late, which is sort of annoying in a romance arc, but what can you do. She is a little too goody, goody, which can be annoying at times. I personally found her rather annoying and her romance to be poorly written.

Also she is a "Sarkhai" appears to be a new species made just for her. They are "near human" no other details at this time.

You can equip weapons and armor on your companions, if that's what you are asking. They have weapon and armor types similar to played characters. Nadia Grell for example can use dual-bladed staves, dual-bladed lightsabers, and light armor. Far as I know, they can equip any weapon or armor that fits their type. Certain companions have special slots for things like droids. Also, some companion appearances won't change when you equip gear on them. They have special appearance items that will change their look (beyond the Appearance Slot that affects things like skin color, hair color, etc) that will change their armor look. Examples of this are Khem Val and Qyzen Fess.

By soma at 2012-01-28 11:05:04
Nadia behaves very submiss and even DONT go the usual companion position when you enter low light places like an elevator, she almost is begging for you to kiss her, nice move.
-4
By Gothic90 at 2011-12-29 17:33:55

My 2 cents:

Romance isn't automatically dark sided -- actually most flirt options don't give dark side points (including kissing and sex) but if you are overly passionate, or selfish about it, it's dark sided. The two jedi on Tython are clearly both and they are willing to bribe you to keep it a secret. In JK's story arc, you meet another pair of Jedi who are not overly passionate, and keeping the secret doesn't yield you DS points.

Examples: Jedi Knight SPOILER!
Most flirt option with Kira don't give dark side points;
Dark side actions include:
Keeping her identity a secret from the council
Killing her torturer out of anger

In my opinion light side and dark side should be universal, one action shouldn't be dark-side in TOR era but light-side in legacy era. What the council thinks doesn't define light side.

Starting a romance at all as a Jedi is probably going to be a dark side choice. Remember the quest on Tython where (spoilers) you had to find out whether two Padawans were fostering a romance? This is still in the era where the Jedi Order frowned upon all romantic relationships because they caused attachments, which (in their view) inevitably led to all those negative emotions like pain, fear, jealousy, regret, and hate.

In short: if you're a Jedi, romance is a fast track to the Dark Side, and it won't change for at least several millennia of in-game time. Have fun! :)

-5
By Speedy at 2011-12-26 15:26:54
I always had a problem with the whole no love, and the fact that they don't take children over a certain age because they are too attached to their parents, its kind of f'ed up, i mean Jedi are like a bunch of sociopaths that follow a moral code.
