In this mission you will have to confront Nomen Karr http://www.torhead.com/npc/3RdkbyO

It is a tough fight, so make sure to bring your companion with you, as well as a stimpack and some medpacs. I took Quinn for heals, but Vette or your droid will likely work just as well - provided they have some upgrades.

The fight lasts 3 phases, with Karr gaining abilities as he goes through each phase. Do not blow your cooldowns, defensive or otherwise, on the 1st go-round; you will need them to stay alive or kill him quickly in the 2nd and 3rd rounds as Karr becomes more powerful.

Force scream and Smash will not stun him, however, force choke and backhand will. He is also immune to Pommel Strike.

Fighting Jaesa Willsaam by comparison is much easier.

When you beat him the first time, make sure you heal to full. He''l just come back enraged and fight again once you talk to him. Same for the second time, make sure you heal before talking to him again!

I'm a level 32 Marauder and while I know the quest log says this is a level 32 mission, I can't put a dent into phase two without blowing all my cooldowns. I'd hate to see how quickly he'd wreck me on phase three.

My advice is to bring a friend.

Did this at lvl 32. Had no problems what so ever with Quinn as healer. On the first 2 phases I didn't get below 95% health. On the 3rd phase he (Karr) opened up quite strong so I popped Invincible and stopped at maybe 70% health before Quinn got his act together. Had no need for CoF, Saber Ward or any other long cool down ability.

I did this as a 32 Marauder, had to wait for my defensive cooldowns each phase. I suggest letting your companion have agro until they are about 50% hp, use their defensive CD's then wreck him as best as possible. GL

This quest was bugged on my Juggernaut. I fought 3 rounds with Nomen Karr and then when I talked to him the conversation freezes as he's saying "My... wound is mortal Sith. At least I die knowing that you'll never find Jaesa...". I've tried to restart the conversation seeral times, restart game client and re-enter story area but nothing works. I've submitted a bug report using in-game help system.

I started this at level 30. Managed the first round, but couldn't do the second. So I went back to Tatooine and Alderaan to finish all the side quests, and had a couple of games of Hutt-Ball, until I was level 32.

This was pretty easy as a Juggernaut (skill tree = 8/14/1). It was so easy, in fact, I wasn't sure if the Instance had reset and I was having to fight the first round again. Karr didn't seem to put up much of a fight at all!

Just make sure you're at the level you're supposed to be for this mission (lvl 32). I used Quinn for heals, made use of Saber Ward, Call on the Force (to reset Saber Ward), and just hammered Karr with Assault, Ravage, Sundering Assault, Sweeping Slash, Retaliation and Force Choke. Smash doesn't stun him, but it still deals about 500 damage. My life was never lower than 60%, and it just felt like a simple fight as the rounds continued.

Jaesa was easy, too - though, she did sneak a few attacks and took a bit more of my hp's than Karr did.

As others have said, make sure you heal BEFORE speaking to Karr to continue the fights.

I can confirm what RobLucas said - as a Juggernaut, this fight seems far easier than some others - Master freakin' Yonlach comes to mind :-p

Maybe it's because I was 33 by the time this quest came up, but this fight was far easier than I anticipated - I didn't need to use any of my shields, just rotated through my normal abilities, stunned him whenever I could and he went down fairly easily.

One thing to keep in mind: You really should rest up after each fight. This can be a problem since, at the end of each phase, he turns "friendly" and has the quest-icon above his head (like most storyline-boss-mobs in this game). The problem with this is, if you use the right mouse button to "auto"-attack (like I do) and accidentally right-click him him when that happens, you trigger the next fight and have no time to rest up. I solved this by stopping the regular attacks altogether as he got low, so I wouldn't accidentally trigger the next phase.

Good luck!

did it as a lvl 30 jugg (vengeance spec). Pretty easy with Quinn healing and waiting for your cooldowns between rounds. Third round he does a Ravage move and the last hit of that will take a serious chunk out of your life, be sure to interrupt it.

Is there an easier way? I am a 34 marauder and I keep getting beat in the second round.

I did this as a 30 Marauder with Quinn (no disabled abilities) and the 2nd phase was the hardest. I blew all my cooldowns in phase 2 and still owned him on phase 3.

Im a 32 Immortal Jugg, I took them both down easy. Just make sure you interupt Karr when he starts doing his ravage and such at the last fight. Quinn is really awesome here, he can carbonize Karr and that also helps.

Thanks to the comments here this fight was actually quite easy. No stims, no medpacks, just Quinn on heals. Level 30 immortal juggernaut. Phase one was easy, blew all my cooldowns in phase 2, phase 3 is fairly easy.

2nd phase would definitely have been more comfortable with a medpack, that's for sure.
