It wasn't very clear to see how to get down to the explosives. You need to cross the bridge, and on the south-east side of the bridge there is an elevator to go down.

On a side note. Don't help other groups while they are taking on the rebels. If you accidentally hit one of the rebels first, they will not get credit for the kill and will have to restart the entire mission.

was able to solo it as an Operative, though it took considerable time, and wasn't quite as easy.

Operatives get a big advantage doing this quest because they get a good tanking companion (kaliyo) they can use stealth to bypass several of the mob packs on the way to the explosives and the drill, and can heal/DPS at the same time. Its a good combo.

Getting to the explosives is easy, just stealth your way there, kill the 2 packs guarding the explosives one by one, and retrieve them. After that, double back to the first drill, the one directly in front of the elevator, and clear the trash pack near it just in case, since the boss you will fight can do Knockbacks.

After that, plant the explosives on the drill. You will have to survive 3 waves of increasing difficulty, and if you die at any point, you will have to do everything again (pick up explosives, plant them, and survive all the waves)

First wave is easy, 3 standard mobs and 1 strong mob. Second wave is slightly harder, 1 standard mob, 2 strong mobs. Its the third one that will give you a run for your money, because you face a Champion mob. The Rebel Slave Taskmaster

This guy packs some serious punch, he can sprint, so running away from him and kiting isn't going to work, every time you or your companion lands a crit on him, he deals 10% more damage and has 10% more chance to crit for 6 seconds, so be sure to cancel your own crit-boosting buff. Its not worth it. He will periodically stun kaliyo for 3 seconds, during those seconds he will focus on you, so be sure to heal or use a health pack when that happens. His most dangerous skill is is Knock-back, that he will use every 60 seconds.

This skill doesn't do much damage, but depending on your positioning, it can knock you into a pack of mobs, and if that happens, kiss your ass goodbye. To prevent this, do both of these: A: position your own character facing the drill wall (Where you planted the explosives) and B: when he knocks back Kaliyo, click on her "come back" command so that she returns to your position, and then order her to attack again.

Last but not least, this boss has a whirlwind attack, when he uses it, get away from him, and move kaliyo away from him.

In order to win, save ALL your energy into heals for kaliyo, attack only by using your normal non-energy shots. At most you can use corrosive dart to apply some damage-over-time, but otherwise save your energy for healing kaliyo. If she dies, so do you. Be sure to use Stim Boost ON COOLDOWN to increase your energy regen, and, because it can't be stressed hard enough, KEEP YOUR BACK TO THE WALL, you REALLY don't want to be knocked back into a group of extra mobs.

As a last tip, dont forget to use Debilitate ON COOLDOWN. every second this boss isn't hitting Kaliyo, is a second you can spend to top her health up, and regain some precious energy in the process.

This is a long long fight (Boss has 14k Health) and you can only win it by being patient, and saving your energy for heals.

Good luck.

Yep, the elevator is easiest, or you can jump down gradually....just don't land in the pack of mobs :)

You loot the body to get the explosives, then go across to the panel to set them. You all have to do this individually or else you don't get credit.

We had three in a group plus a Krem tank. Died the first time when final guy appeared, not avoiding his strikes, but next time wasn't too bad.

It's possible to solo this, depending on your class and your ability not to pull surrounding mobs. Always CC big hitters when you can and let your companion tank as much as possible. I was able to do everything as a level 13 sorcerer until the very last boss, but got him <25% just by healing my companion and helping DPS (from range) when I could. I just didn't have enough force to do both. I've seen ranged non-forced classes do it. If you can't solo it, easily doable with just another person.

Read your post and went ahead and tried to solo. Success the very first time! I am a level 14 Sith Sorcerer and it was not easy, but not too taxing. Continuously shield Your Dashade friend every time the cool down is up, occasionally heal him and stay out of the way of the knockback. Takes a while but it feels pretty good to pull off those (Heroic +2) solo. :-)

the explosives are directly below the bridge. Jump down on either side onto the cliffs below for the shortcut. Or take the long way down by entering the resistance camp, and hang a right till you see the elevator. I was able to solo this as a lvl 14ish Sorceror. This is the only class that has it so easy with its early game 1 minute whirlwind cc ability - which are so useful on these Heroics. Once you activate the drill, 3 waves will spawn. The first wave is 1 standard and 2 weaks. The 2nd is 2 standard and a few weak ones. And the final wave is the boss. I cc'd the boss and just waited till my force regenerated to 100% and fully healed my pet and I. I also waited for my cooldowns to finish before re-engaging boss.

Something to note about the area and how constricted it is at the drill: if you clear the mob groups off to the left side that are in front of the drill back in the left corner, you can hold position there with your group and let the mobs come to you in the more open area giving you a lot more space to work with and less problems moving around. This is really useful if you are soloing the quest.

Despite being a Juggernaut, I was offered a Marauder's offhand weapon.
