Defender of the Empire

  • Overload the Shield Generator
  • Sabotage the Hyperdrive
  • Use Your Personal Holocom
  • Speak to Darth Jadus
  • Defeat Darth Jadus

The fight is still bugged, however I found it easiest to complete it in this way:

1. Stim pack and buff
2. Stand right by the first set of stairs (farthest from Jadus)
3. Send Kaliyo (or other comp) to attack, once they attack set your comp to passive
4. That will bring them back to you and send Darth Jadus down the stairs to you thus taking off the LoS issue.
5. Just unload and interupt his healing is 2nd and 3rd fight, medpac if needed.

That is the easiest way I could do it with being a lvl 34 sniper.

Upon completion of this quest (or the one of the equivalents) you will close Chapter 1 and earn you Legacy surname - given the Imperial Agent is your first character that leveled this far.

You will be rewarded with either a lockbox, or (at least if you are a Sniper) with the R-55 Searing Disruptor.

The LOS glitch is a real pain.
at a lvl 31 sniper i've spend over 30K on repairs.
I'm at the point of asking a Guildmate to help. It doesnt seem fair that i need to spend so many Credits on a Glitched Quest.

initially tried this as op medic at lvl 32, respec to concealment made it much easier. the sequence above is misleading, you end up fighting him 3 times. it seems bugged, you can't pull jadus with any ranged attacks. here's what i did:

grab a stim and medpacs
set companion to passive and disable and threat generating abilities (i used kaliyo)
pop stealth, run through him from behind and attack with w/e
run laps around the consoles on the left to keep him at bay
once you've got him chasing you, have kaliyo attack
from here on just run around and throw grenades, darts, shoot at him.. whatever ranged attacks you can get away with, just keep moving
stun and interrupt as needed. in the first fight you want to interrupt thundering blast, in the 2nd and 3rd interrupt his heal. take advantage and heal up while he's stunned

once you get the hang of it, its pretty easy.

This fight has a tendency to bug out, and cause you to get the "Cannot see target" if you keep him up on the command area of the bridge.

I found it helps to knock him down the stairs, and magically the LoS issues disappear.

As a level 31 Medicine Operative, I first had enormous trouble with this mission, partly because of the line of sight bug, but also because of the huge burst damage during the first part of the fight.

Note that you will have to fight and defeat Darth Jadus several times. Fortunately I found the first time to be the hardest.

First of all, to get rid of the LoS bug without losing too much health - or your companion - get near Jadus and use the Flash Bang without targeting him (I did this with the companion on passive, though I'm not sure it is necessary). As soon as he is blinded, run away, back toward the entrance. Stop around where you have sets of 3 screens/computers. When the Flash Bang wears off, Jadus will come after you. You may want to hide behind a computer to break LoS and have him come up close. Sic your companion on him (disable passive mode if needed) and start healing.
I found myself unable to heal enough to compensate for his burst damage, and my companion died after a little while. If that happens to you as well, I suggest kiting him around one or several computers. What I did was pop Kolto Probe x2 and have them always up, use Surgical Probe whenever available to remain at max health, use Corrosive Dart and refresh it whenever necessary to slowly wear him off, all the while running around the computers to break LoS and avoid any unwanted damage spike. It took a while, but it worked.
Even though I had sort of sworn to use only Vector and never Kalyo again, I found that she was easier to heal during that tough first part. I then kept her, but I guess I could have switched back to Vector for the rest of the mission.

On the subsequent fights, Jadus does little damage compared to the first encounter, and it's actually quite easy to keep your companion alive and do a little damage yourself. I suggest the following:
- Let your companion tank, of course.
- Use the good old Kolto Probe and Surgical Probe combo, as you should be used to anyway.
- Hide behind the computers - I found that if I was in LoS, I would take a fair amount of damage and be CCed by some lightning ability. You might also want to kite him around again when/if he CCs your companion.
- Never forget to interrupt his healing ability "Channel the Dark Side" as early as possible.
- Don't hesitate to interrupt his other spells too: if you alternate between Debilitate, Distraction and Flash Bang, you can interrupt most of them, and so not take too much damage, and be able to use your own damage abilities. Just always keep an interrupt available for his heal.

Just in case you get surprised at the beginning of the fight, either by his erratic behavior, or by an unexpected damage spike, make sure Cloaking Screen is not on cooldown. As far as I was concerned, the first few seconds were the key to the entire encounter. Once I was able to handle them, the rest went like a breeze.
