Scorched Earth

The intel you recovered from the Chiss defector revealed a strategic assessment of the nearby Ortolan power station. Currently, the White Maw controls the station, but if it fell into Imperial hands, the Empire would have a self-sufficient base of operations. Major Vinson has asked you to destroy the power station.

To clarify, if you run into the bug where the last enemy won't die, have everyone in your party exit the group phase. Everyone then needs to right click on their portrait and select "reset local instances." This will cause everything in the instance to respawn, but once you fight your way back to the Ortolans you should just have to talk to the leader to complete the quest without having to defeat the Imperial army again.

At least, that's how it worked for my friend and me. Your results may vary.

Seems to be bugged at the moment. When I and three others tried to complete this quest with the lightside choice. Shortly after reducing the number of Imperials to one that last Imperial went friendly and the NPC you're supposed to turn it into continues to fight that friendly NPC with no end in sight

Having the same problem. It bugged for my group at the end, as well, and we're not able to complete the quest. Put a ticket in.

EDIT - We went out, dropped group, and went back in under a different character's instance and were able to complete it the quest.

We reset this 8 times as a two man group. For the life of us we couldn't figure out what the problem was. We alternated between who started the instance (after a reset). We killed the guys as fast as we could, kited, pulled and ran out, etc. Nothing seemed to work. My groupmate was ready to throw it in but agreed to try one more time. For the last successful run we stayed very close to the conversation console and it worked. In all other fights we ran to the troopers. Cannot say for sure that this is the fix because we really have only a bunch of data for what doesn't work but that was the only thing we did differently other than killing them a bit slower because we waited for them to come to us. It may have been that the little guys agro'd them before we did... something. But that worked for us, hope it helps, was a dang frustrating bug.

Save yourself some trouble. We too were experiencing this bug and noticed that all the comments came from people in groups. If you have an issue with this one, just go out, reset, disband and do it solo. Save those Ortolans!

Having chosen the option to not blow up the plant and instead defend it from the Imperials, I received the following mail from Chief Engineer Soobo with 1,695 credits attached:

Subject: For your wonderful help on Hoth!

Thank you, thank you again for saving our geothermal plant, and for defending us so magnificently! You've been an inspiration to all of us. The defense system to protect the plant is progressing very well indeed. When we can finally settle on Hoth, my people will have a safe haven with all the power they could ever need.

Please, take this! You've done so much for us, it's the very least we can give!

To: ToR designers, developers, or whomever makes these kinds of decisions
From: Defenestrator, who really isn't as bad as the name implies (I use my powers for good, etc.)
RE: Ortolans

Please please please can I have an Ortolan companion? They can play instruments and cook! Come on! I will name mine Ted. Ted will sing songs about how heroic I am and make awesome Rodian mayonnaise sandwiches for me and my friends. Make it happen. Seriously.
