Important conversationsClass Companion
I have to thank you for working this little meeting into your very busy schedule. It took me some trouble to arrange.
You have caused me a great deal of difficulty, Lieutenant. Some have even called you my nemesis. Was that your goal?
They were heroes, Lieutenant!
One of the most elite commando units in all of the Sith Empire. Five of the Emperor's deadliest agents.
We were the worst of enemies, but times have changed, Lieutenant. Meet my five newest friends.
Lieutenant! Report--were you able to neutralize Tavus?
I'm sorry, Lieutenant. I wouldn't have sent you if I'd known it was a ruse, but there was no way to be sure.
What about the prototype cloaking device? Were you able to retrieve it, or did Tavus manage to sneak that away from us as well?

So the first two groups of Shadow Fist soldiers are fairly easy, but the commander is TOUGH if you just attack as normal.
The trick to easily defeating the Commander is to turn on the red beams and attract him into them. He will die really fast after a few hits of running through the beams and resulting fire.
The hints are helpful.
Closed blast door, triggered the fight.
Used M1-4x on the first two at level 23; healed and got the next two and it seemed rather straight forward.
Switched to Elara, went head to head with the Commander and took him down on first try with her. Used a stim and had med pac, but not as scary as I thought it would be.

Finally worked how to do this - IFF stands for identification, friend or foe (IFF), and affects only the detectors in the hallway. If you activate it, the sensors now see the Commander as a foe, instead of you. You can activate them all up (in the hallway only) and run through them no drama. Unlike the commander...

Awesome!
This guy isn't kidding. I was having a horrible time with him. Then I turned on the IFF computer, which made it hurt him and not me... got him mad at my pet, set pet on passive, and ran back and forth through the 2 sets of beams until he was dead. Done and done.
The ^&*!ing commander is beyond &*!@ing bull #$%^ hard. I've tried him probably fifty times at least by now. You can't do it. You can't. What the &*!@. Not possible. Now I'm stuck here just scratching my ass trying to figure out how the &*!@ to do this...
Edit: Please disregard this comment. I went in and got him my very next shot -.-
This has turned me off the game for good. I died about 20 times trying to figure out how to down the Commander and still haven't been able to do it. I tired all companions and used all CDs and still couldn't do it. I realize now that this game is probably not for me, so I'm going back to WoW where you don't have ridiculous stuff like this.
OK, I came back. I realized I hadn't been using Stims or Medpacks, and so I created a Biochem character and leveled up to make some for my Trooper. Also, I went to Tatooine with my Trooper to get more upgrades and boost the stats a bit. I also made sure I was using the right rotation and using my 20 min CD special ability. Phew - finally downed. My trooper is now doing fine. I now know that some bosses on class missions are extremely tough, but you just have to max your stats with a Stim, and heal at the appropriate point with your 20 min CD ability, and you can do it. Not easy, but doable.
Cheers.

It's a trap! (you knew that, right?) Immediately after talking to Tavus you will be attacked by 2 members of Shadow Fist, then 2 more, and finally the commander. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. Once you are in the bay with the cloaking device... look back at the door and click the control to the right to close the blast door! At the least this will give you time to recover after defeating the 2 pairs of Strong mobs before facing the Elite Commander (he appears out in the hall).
I tried re-enabling some of the laser fences but the Shadow Fist soldiers do not trip them. I tried switching the IFF Panel back on and it does not seem to do anything.
NOTE: Just inside the phase, on your right, is a Medcenter with a Republic Medical Droid inside. If you take too many deaths figuring out how to take the Commander, revice back there and repair your gear!
