Open Communications

Agent Hextal has discovered an ancient communication network built by the original architects of Belsavis. Having access to this network would allow the Republic to better coordinate its efforts on Belsavis.

Hextal sent some warden droids to recover the passkey that controls the network, but they were ambushed by Esh-kha prisoners. Hextal has asked you to fight through the Esh-kha and recover the passkey.

This mission can be completed by yourself even though it is listed as a Heroic 4. The item to retrieve is just outside the phase for The Stasis Generator and 3 normal strong mobs spawn when you pick it up.

  • As of patch 1.1.0 there are groups of strong/elite mobs in the area. The mission can still be completed by yourself if you can stealth (or just get to the end).
  • As of patch 1.2.0 this is now a [Heroic 2] mission (mobs in the area are now weaker) and three strong mobs spawn.

This mission also rewards 3 Daily Commendations, and your choice of a level 50 weapon for one of your companions (excluding C2-N2) or a blue lockbox of similar level. Most of the companion weapons are also fully-moddable except for certain companions who cannot have moddable weapons. (For example, one of the Smuggler's Aim-based companions uses Techstaves and Techblades, but no hilt modifications exist with Aim on them.)

This quest has been fixed. The tomb is now entirely filled with large groups of elites.

this mission was changed to Heroic 2 patch 1.2.

The area is filled with mobs now, but the objective is still unguarded at the end. Even as a Sage I was able to solo it by simply dying and reviving in place twice on the way to the objective.

Easy solo as a Shadow, or for any stealther I would think. Just sneak past all the mobs to the end and loot the dead droid. After looting 3 mobs will spawn, but they are all normal, not elite or even hard, so they die before the mind maze that I do on one of the mobs on the way in expires. Also, while the rewards for this are mostly orange companion weapons with mods, Qyaen's weapon is only a blue, no mods.

You can solo this as a sentinel without dying. Something not commonly known about force camouflage is that it turns you invisible to mobs for 4 seconds - simply use it just BEFORE aggroing the mobs, run through as quickly as possible (take the shortest route to a place with no mobs), and when it ends you should be out of aggro range. Wait out the CD, do that on the next pack, repeat till you reach the clickable thingy.

Of course, it's probably faster to just strip and die 1-2 times to the thing since force camo has a 45s CD.

Easy for a solo stealther after patch 1.2. Make sure your Disappearing Act (or equivalent "stealth and exit combat" ability that has a 3 min cooldown) available. Stealth to the downed droid (it should be glowing to show it is clickable). Click on it. Once you get the Passkey Mission Item, 3 Strong mobs will spawn on you (normally this would be no big deal to kill but all three seem to have flamethrowers (channelled DoTs) that they immediately use which will likely kill you and your companion quickly). Use Disappearing Act and they will despawn. Sneak back out of area (there is another Heroic instance at the other end of this same area if you have the quest, The Stasis Generator).
