This quest doesn't start with a data pad. It starts at Archaeologist Shellaster. He is around cursor 95, 370 on main map.

Into The Maw
You've found a datapad in the remains of a crashed ship. The encryption on the log doesn't match Imperial methods; in fact, it appears to be Republic in origin. The final entry in the log indicates the survivors of the crash are headed to the nearby archaeological camp.
At the archaeological camp, Archaeologist Shellaster has told you that he sent some strange spacers on to the camp neighboring his. Head to the nearby research camp and ask if anyone has seen the spacers.

It seems the rewards have been changed. You can now either choose a commendation or a chest item (class-dependent; full set obtained by quests on the planet).
The new reward choices are:
Dromund Kaas Commendation
Sorcerer's Vestments
Marauder's Vest
Warlord's Chestguard
Mercenary's Chestguard
Sniper's Jacket
Marksman's Jacket
Someone should confirm this though, as I am not 100% positive on every class reward.
