Enemies of the Republic

Ensign Belkan and his squad were dispatched to retrieve valuable astrogation charts from the old Jedi Temple. On their way, Ensign Belkan's team was ambushed by a group of Imperials who had been tipped off about the charts.

He needs you to retrieve the charts before the Imperials do. Recover the astrogation charts from the High Corridor of the Jedi Temple.

If you can pass the two packs of three Imperials guarding the hallways of the High Corridor (I was able to stealth past them on a level 17 Jedi Shadow), then you can solo this quest without a companion. Here's how:

Pass the trash NPC's, loot the astrogation charts. The Sith Infiltrator will spawn. Take him next to one of the two pillars in the room, and fight him there. Once he starts casting his Death Field, which has a three second cast time, move behind the pillar out of his line of sight. Once the template on the ground for the field disappears, the cast has failed, and you can go back to attacking the champion. He won't hit you back at this point, as he is waiting to cast the field again.

Repeat this until the champion is dead, then loot the Astrogation Computer from his corpse, and you've just soloed the quest.

The Sith Infiltrator boss that drops the mission objective can ALSO drop Orange-quality (mod'able) L15 bracers. If you wish to farm the bracers (high level toon recommended) you can reset this mission repeatedly. Just run outside the entrance and click "reset". Don't panic if it is greyed out ... you can only reset once every 2 minutes and a L50 will not have any problem getting in and killing this boss in under 2 minutes.

Some people will get lucky and see a bracer on their first, third or 6th drop ... and post happy comments here. I'll let you know it took me 29 kills to get any bracers (and I was farming Consular bracers, not the Trooper bracers I got ... money isn't the issue so much as none of the kind I need are available). Since you can kill it around 30 times an hour, this isn't sooooo bad. Then again, it is quite possible the one you need may NEVER drop for you.

As a Jedi Shadow, my reward choices were:
Coruscant Commendation
Revered Arbiter's Double-bladed Lightsaber
Noble Jedi Scholar Lightsaber

Both sabers sell for 305 according to torhead.

so most of you that are use to WoW know that the bosses have a random chance to drop any one rare gear that has been programed in. in ToR the boss or enemy has been given a tier of which a number of items drop. this means that this guy will drop 1 of 100+ items. don't believe me? take a look at all of the DB's around. they all show that a number of items have drop off this guy. sometimes over 100 items that drop off of other non elite guys. in addition, the game take in account what class the player(s) is so that the loot is tailored to the party. in short -drop rate don't mean jack with these types. only in fps and ops does it matter what the bosses have been programed for..

Soloed this as a lvl 23 Jedi Guardian with green gear from taris. First pack went down pretty fast but I had to "pot" to not die. I had Kira out two, also with green gear from taris. Switched out Kira with T7 on second pack and popped Saber Ward. Survival was better this time but it took longer to kill them. I switched back to Kira at the boss seeing as I am already a tank and more dps couldn't hurt. True enough, boss went down smoothly. Much easier than the packs before.

Not soloable as Jedi Guardian in tank spec. He puts a dot and our damage output is way too weak to outdps that.

In 50 minutes of farming this, I got the following:

2 off Smuggler - Medium - RD-07A Spider Bracers
1 off Consular - Light - Omenbringer's Bracers

It's all down to RNG though since I can't use any of these on the alt I was farming on, but both my low level smuggler and Jedi Consular were happy, on another occasion I spent an hour and got no Oranges, but tried again last night and after 30 miutes I got:

1 off Trooper - Heavy - TD-17A Talon Bracers.

But if my Jedi Knight ever wants bracers, she can go buy them off GTN.

Hyde is totally correct spent an afternoon farming this place on a level 30 plus trooper got both the smuggler and trooper braces. but I also killed all the trash mobs, and they can drop the belt, the belt is not in the bosses loot table.

Mission reward option for me was a commendation or an orange "Valorous Tactician Lightsaber".

I wish to thank you for 45 minutes of wasting my and I'm certain others time. 30 kills...granted, as I'm a L50 Shadow, this was rather trivial...but, in 30 k's, he dropped 30 blues...not a SINGLE modable item of any kind, let alone bracers. I call a%%. Thanks for all your assistance, you're truly special...
