This fight was easy after the first try. Just DPS him down asap, use Qyzen to tank. When he starts to cast force smash or whatever its called you need to interupt with mind sap (use force stun as a back up if you miss mind sap). I suggest using mind sap after vivicar has casted about 2/3 of the spell because he doesnt do any dmg at all while hes casting. Interupt that and its a very very easy fight.

Just completed this at lvl 30 using Qyzen. I died a couple times at first because the interrupts kept missing. I'm Sage (Seer), so used Field Command Stim - Presence, and let Qyzen tank/DPS while I healed him and focused on interrupting with Mind Snap, Force Stun, and Force Wave. If all those miss or are on CD you can use Force Lift as a last resort. It heals him, so make sure you hit him with Telekinetic Throw ASAP. Because I was missing so much, I would start trying to interrupt as soon as he began channeling. Doing that gave me enough time to use all my options.

Done at level 32 as a Jedi Shadow. 7.600 health, Tharan as companion. I kept Kinetic Ward up and Mind Snapped each Force Crush. The fight is trivially easy in tank spec. Never fell below 90% health.

However, I wiped 3 times on my way to Vivicar. As soon as I unlocked each of the squad leaders' areas every mob between area start and the squad leader aggroed at once and came rushing down the hall to surround me. I could kill a fair number of them but it was just too much damage for Tharan to keep me up through. No clue if that is intended behavior for this place, but it sure felt buggy.

Attempted this one today at 31. Lord Vivicar is 34 with 16K health. I had a full health pool of 6200 and he killed me in one hit. Not sure if it is a bug or if he is just that bad ass but it sucked. Gonna level up to 33ish and try again. Wish I had a combat log like WoW does so I could see what ability leveled me in one hit.

Bumped your comment up one. The ability is force crush and he doesn't cast it often enough to have to use anything other than the mind snap ability. Thanks!

Yes, the tip on the interrupt was the critical bit of this.

I just did it at 30 in a spirit of "hell, why not" to see how far I got. So I thought I'd post here to encourage anyone else wanting to try at 30.

I used Tharan Cedrax rather than Qyzen and the melee damage from Vivicar seemed fairly low. Holiday did manage to dazzle Vivicar quite a lot which adds some fun to the fight .

I used Mind Snap on the big nuke "Force Crush". This is a slow cast and is telegraphed by sound cues so you cannot miss it.

With a Fort stim I had 6520 hp and 550 force. I did need to use Channel the Force and Noble Sacrifice. I was able to self-heal while Holiday distracted him and didn't need a medpack.

Basically kept chucking stones at him, big and small, until he cried uncle. And Mind Crush when it was off CD.

So i went in my first time, and was burning him down quick, then he started casting Force Crush. This spell will one hit quit you regardless of how much hp/shielded you are.

I used willpower stim, just dps'd him down and healed my companion. Always interrupt using mind sap, force wave, force stun on his Force Crush. It's pretty easy after that. There's a chance to miss a interrupt so make sure you follow it up with another interrupt.

I was having this issue with entire hallways pulling as well. Twice I died and once I was able to Force Cloak out of it. The first hallway I Force Cloaked out of it, stood there a moment, and then they all came rushing at me again. Definitely something wrong with these areas, something in the pathing based on what I saw using Force Pull. At the beginning of the hallway if you Force Pull one of the first set they will come to you visually, but every attack will say you're too far away until you move up to where they used to stand, and then they warp back to that location. Don't know if the same happens with the spawns further up the halls though as I didn't try.

The tip about interrupts was a lifesaver. I couldn't really tell when he was casting it using Qyzen Fess, so after my 4th death and a 9 minute rez wait, I got Tharan out, put him in healing stance and then it was a lot easier to see his "Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique". I still had to bubble and heal myself, and still ended up at about 15% health. Level 30 Sage.

Force Crush will kill you in one shot (about 8k damage) if you let it finish. It can be interrupted with mind sap and stuns and you can outrun it (force speed helps). I did this at 30 (tried at 29 as a sage but, as he was red to me, I couldn't land my spells on him even if I could outrun the Crush). I had Tharan out and after having him cast Holiday at the start of the first Force Crush, then putting it on auto cast, he would recast her sometime during the next Crush and interrupt for me (and since I usually ran 'just in case' I would have time to heal since I didnt break the control).

Just downed him at level 29, and it was (to date) the longest battle I've had in this game. As he's level 34, his resist rate was off the charts, so there was no way I could stand face to face with him. Instead, I kited him back and forth across the shuttle bay, with Tharan in blaster stance and his healing abilities turned off. Between Holiday's 0% miss chance (apparently) and just plain running away whenever he got close, I was able to wear him down slowly but surely using Weaken Mind primarily, spamming it till it stuck. I kept aggro by healing myself, using mostly Rejuvenate for its instant cast. What sped it up the most was stopping at each wall, and just unloading on him with Mind Crush, Project, and Telekinetic Throw as he got close. He would do a leaping charge once he got within range, and immediately follow it up with Force Crush every time. At that point, I'd start running to the opposite end, spamming Weaken Mind till I was out of range, and then just healed up and waited at the opposite wall until he was within range again. All told, the battle lasted somewhere around an hour and a half. I'd suggest anyone else who gets to this point at level 29 to just go get that extra level or get some help.. It'd take less time that way, I'm certain, than trying to kite it out like this.. But it can be done.
