I was still able to use it at Light II even though it had a red crystal in it.

whoever linked it in chat probably had a different color crystal in theirs. The color crystals determine the alignment limits for this item.

Weird, when linked in the chat it says its forbidden to "Light I and higher" but when bought or looked at in the vendor window it has not such restriction, I'm Light II and can use it.

the little icon looks like it has blade type protrusions around the emitter. Is that accurate?

The Color Crystal itself registers as "Forbidden to Light I and above", but for whatever reason it doesn't effect the saber. I have this equipped as Light III

it has a red crystal by default and when u check it in the vendor it doesnt say anything about light or dark availability.yet if u are light red is off limits. keep that in mind next time

Well then that crystal's alignment restriction is bugged, that should be reported.
