Coruscant Commendation

These commendations are earned throughout the questing experience of Coruscant , various quests will award you with commendations, some quest have a choice of commendation or item, so if the item is not an upgrade it's recommended to pick up a commendation.

Various mobs will also drops Commendations, I'm not 100% which ones but I recall it is most likely the bosses at the end of quest lines.

These Commendations are used to purchase various high quality modifications, and items (most items require level 16)

When I reached level 16 I had enough Coruscant commendations to purchase two items (I had obtained around 46 commendations)

These do drop from mobs but the rate is not high enough to justify farming for them if you've finished all the quests. Bought some mods with commendations before realizing that there was a nice weapon upgrade I could have gotten but was short a couple commendations and couldn't bring myself to farm for them. Coruscant was borderline mind-numbing.

Edit: These drop in pairs of 3's from some of The Esseles Flashpoint bosses.

Coruscant Commendations can be quickly gathered with the following trick. I'm pretty certain this isn't considered an exploit but may be an oversight on the dev team to normalize BT and Esseles commendations.

The first boss of Esseles, Lieutenant Isric, drops 3 commendations.
There are 3 enemy groups to handle before you reach him.
The first group is 2 gold star level 10's. You can simply run by them if you don't stop as they will not aggro until they have moved into their starting positions.
The 2nd and 3rd groups will aggro so either kill them or stealth passed based upon your class.

Once you defeat him, use the Exit Area button above your minimap to teleport out of Esseles.
When you're back outside, reset your phases to restart the flash point.

I was soloing these as a level 13 Scoundrel with my companion. Timed one at 5 minutes and 8 seconds (starting to load in to finishing loaded outside).
With a duo we managed to complete it fast enough we received a 'entered too many phases recently' style message (that's not exact but conveys we reset too fast).

The exp is pretty bad but can help you gear up a little.
I cannot find a comparable method for BT or other lower level Flash points.
