For the record, the PvP Vendor that can transfer your Warzone Commendations into Mercenary Commendations (and back) is the one that stands next to the terminal that grants the daily PvP mission. For Imperials, this is Jensen in the Combat Training area of Vaiken Spacedock (Imperial Fleet).

Required for almost every single PvP Item. You need huge amount of these.

Not sure if it is a good idea or not, but I have bought full set of PvP lvl 40 gear for me and one of my companions. (I started doing this at lvl 30ish)
I am now converting this currency to Mercenary Commendations before I reach the cap and will purchase the speeder next.
I notice that there is no lvl restrictions on buying items so I am piling pvp bought gear in my cargo bay for use further down the line.
Once the speeder is safely in my cargo hold I will start buying into the lvl 50 gear stuff and also look into buying the epic boxes. My guess is that others will too and that there will be trading and swapping of champion pvp items before our characters are lvl 50.
Reaching the cap of 1000 was very fast and I think I was on cap for many hours without knowing about the cap and probably lost many warzone commendations while leveling up.

You get 3 for each reward you gain, and by reward i mean the "achievements" (Solo kill, 10 kills, 75k dmg, defender and attacker points) these will stop giving Warzone commendations at 8 for people under lvl 50 atleast. you also gain some for winning or loosing but the exact number I am not sure of. With 8 "achievements" I gain 134 for winning a Warzone. These numbers might not be correct but it gives you an Idea of what to expect.

Where are you finding the sub lv 50 PVP gear. I went to Coruscant and talked to my PVP vendor(singe-smuggler vendor) and all i can see are lv 50 items.
Only lv 50 items on the space station PvP vendor also. I am also not seeing any weapons. Is there somewhere else I need to go?
