The Magnetically Guided Grappling System or MGGS is standard Magball equipment. Magball is a competitive sport where opposing teams fight for control of a magnetized ball which can be scored in the opposing teams goal. The MGGS can also be used to move the player around the arena by targeting the various magnetic points that are setup.

This isn't a consumable. Buy it once, keep it around for the other datacrons, alts, fellow guildies, etc.

This can also be used to get the datacron on corellia that is used at 442,46 to get ontop of the other building (have to be on the 2nd floor that goes around the building); however, I haven't seen it work once. It must be bugged

*Fix!* for the MGGS: Hit jump as soon as you activated the MGGS mash the spacebar and time it right... you will probably die a few times but it will work!

Got the +10 stats yesterday. It was a funny adventure that only took us 4 hours in total, since we had to figure it out all by ourselves. I recommend everyone doing it. :-)

I've never been able to get up to it, but there's also a magnetic stabilizer on top of the NW tower of the Belsavis Larcenous Prisoner Holding block (1058,1177). Pretty sure there's just a lockbox up there though, not worth the trouble.

:sigh: wasted alot of time trying the MGGS+jump mechanics, never found the mario spot and didn't want to have to do that. Then I found this:

Summary: click the stabilizer, then as soon as the rope fires from the MGGS ... click the stabilizer AGAIN ... it will queue up a 2nd grapple. Worked first time once I saw the video.

Not required to get the datacron, It is actually possible to use the ladders on the dam by mario hopping onto the platform at the bottom below the datacron from the nearby cliffs, be sure to check the other platform at the otherside of the Dam too as theres usually a chest, can fire the MGGS there too (found I was able to run along the bottom and actually up the slope to it after the MGGS glitched me to where i shot it a few times).

What are these used for? I bought one because the tooltip implies some very neat possibilities, but otherwise, it has no use that I'm aware of.

It actually misfires alot, so its wasted money buying it, or its bugged, either way it only works if you shoot it from the platform below the datacron, i just ended up mario hopping the stairs like the poster above
