Im playing a Sentinel, and it seems to me that i picked the worst class in the entire game when it comes to PvP, i might be doing something wrong. If anyone have some suggestions when it comes to specc and what to do im really open for anything ( im combat atm )

Thanks in advance

I don't play them, but I play with and against them often enough, and they do just fine from what I can see. As a healer I wouldn't categorize them as a problem class like snipers and assassins, but they can put quite a dent in me when I'm trying to heal and I have no problems defending a point with one by my side.

The grass is always greener on the other side. They're a good class, certainly not broken.

Plenty will dispute this, but I tend to think the assassins/sorcerers are the only viable class in pvp at the moment, due to the ridiculous amounts of cc + dps they get. Until diminishing returns are implemented in a noticeable way, I don't see this changing.

I usually faceroll other classes 1v1 besides Sorcerers.. PVP is more then using CDs its using your environments as well.

Nu, there fine there just built for a different side of Pvp; you don't go for kills or high dmg, your job is one thing pressure and harassment; were like the mutialisk of swtor. Are job is to delay/stall/bog down, if you use our c.ds in good order you can hold a door by yourself for a good 30 secs and in hutt ball you can immobilize the FC in play for around 12 secs total so they don't jump down. If your looking for more burst I suggest focus spec; it lets you do a 3k+ aoe crit every 13 secs but you lose alot of what lets you generate huge pressure.

i dont know

been lookin at marauders lately and im thinkin whenever the operative nerf goes thru if there crap in pvp about making one but ive heard them being compared alot to fury warriors in world of warcraft.anyone that has played fury and that has played a carnage spec marauder seem to think they play just like them.i mean, warriors look cool but i hated playing fury

but i dont know, everytime i seem to bring up or see people bring up world of warcraft to sw tor comparisons it always ends up being a flamefest

I have a blast PvPing with my Sentinel. I use the Watchman Skill tree which many say isn't good for PvP, but so far it has done great for me. I genearlly shut Sorcs down since I can use force leap from 0-30m which is nice since it is an interupt. plus, Force Kick cool down is reduced to 6 seconds which also helps shut down the longer casts of sorcs, or the channeled force lightning. Against other classes I do fairly well. The interupt ability of Watchman plus the Dots do wonders. If i can quickly stack my dots, even if they CC me, they are taking damage from me.... and if I can stack centeirng fast enough (whcih I build 4 per attack that uses focus plus 2 each time I'm attacked) I can extend my HP pool through self healing; this plus a PvP med pac and expertice stim allowed me to take on 2 IMPs on my own in a warzone to secure a turret. I fought a Sorc and a marauder.

In open world PvP, I love my sentinel... I am tempted to try the combat tree for it's burst damage, but I love the constant damage and interupt ability of the watchman. I think that the ability to disrupt the enemy and do really good damage is better than not being able to shut them down as effectively and do great damage.

I've been owning with my Sentinel. I use Combat spec and I can own solo and in team fights. Its all about getting a good ability preference rotation and also in WZ you need to have a team that is working together and getting the job done or you are just going to get *!@# on no matter what even if your good. Happy hunting!

Brah we got dat anti heal throw. You might want to worry about us a little more as a healer. Whenever I start throwing that thing heals on the enemy team drop substantially.

Hybrid builds do not ususally work very well in PvP as you lack the higher end tallents in the tree which make or break other abilities use in PvP.

All i know is as a DPS Tank assasin. (31/0/10, full dps gear, nice damage and very very good survivability) geared Marauders/sentinals are the only class that is able to really kill me quickly. Everything else i can easily survive against for a long period of time (if not outright kill them) i can even come out of a 2v1 and 3v1 situation fairly easily. But put up an equaly geared marauder/sentinal in thier DoT spec, (can't remember the name) and i'm down for the count really stinking fast. It's the only class that does that too me.
