Testing Marauder Hybrid PVE damage

Okay, so I normally play my guild's top DPS role as an Annihilation Marauder and got the rotation/priority down to a talent. However, I love Hybrid builds and am currently leveling a hybrid Sniper, but wanted to test out a new "rotation" based class. Here is the spec:

http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#100ZhGbbddMozZGd0rdbM.1

With this spec, you actually time your attacks because you are rotating it based on massive crit damage from first Smash and then Force Scream. Here is what I was thinking:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INITIATE PHASE: Force Charge > Force Choke (stack 4 Shockwave) > Smash

BURST PHASE: Initiate Phase > Gore > Auto Attack until Blood Frenzy > Force Scream

NOTE: Make sure you Force Scream with Gore and Blood Frenzy up for max damage

SUSTAIN PHASE: Burst Phase > Battering Assault > Obliterate > Smash > Berserk > Vicious Slash use all 6 stacks of Berserk

REPEAT PHASE: Sustain > Initiate

NOTE: You will need to run away from enemy in order to get the second initation started, then repeat burst and sustain.

Full rotation:

Force Charge > Force Choke > Smash > Initiate > Gore > Auto Attack until Blood Frenzy, else Force Scream > Force Scream > Smash > Berserk > Vicious Slash x6 > Repeat
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The idea behind this build is to get two major crit strikes within a small period of time, and then a large sustained damage phase until your Force Choke is back off cooldown (usually 20 seconds with the Ravager talent)

As soon as Force Choke is off CD you should begin the initiation phase once more as it will be the highest or second highest part of the phase in damage you can do--100% crit, 100% damage Smash, immediately followed by a 100% crit 100% armor pen Force Scream.

I have not been able to test this in a raid, but I would like to test this in the 4th boss of EV as that is what I've found to be the best DPS meter.

Is there anyone that may have tested this before or something similar? I should be trying this soon but I don't know how the rotation (or if it needs to be priority) will work.

Also, would it be more damage efficient to use Gore before the initial Smash and try to fit Force Scream in before the 6 seconds wears out? That way the Smash also benefits from 100% armor pen, but it will be harder to hit Force Scream with Blood Frenzy active.

EDIT: Added Battering Assault to the beginning of the Sustain phase for more Rage production.

Couple questions, i'm not very far in the warrior story so i'm using the database to figure out a few things.

I'm assuming when you say frenzy you mean berserk? or is there there a second frenzy that does something other than 30 fury? Do you mean frenzy and then berserk, but that seems like a waste of the fury you already built.....
Like i said, i'm a novice warrior at best so im looking for clarification.

You are right to--I made a clerical error that I fixed. Got confused with "Blood Frenzy" and "Berserk". I changed it appropriately, thanks for letting me know.

EDIT: Also note that since I have not tested this, I cannot say whether or not you will have 30 Fury before you use Berserk. Based on the amount of hits you are doing it should be enough, however.

My warriors only 30 so unfortunately i can't test it but from what i see I really like the build, carnage and rage don't have the typical problem hybrid specs have of 2 entirely different focuses weakening the whole <which is the problem i think i see in your sniper build but ill post that there>.

To answer your question about gore, Im not a gambling man so i'd say use a certain boost rather than go for 2 and lose one, but of course that would require that your crit rating be low, which looking at a friends marauder is not the case. I think reducing armor to 0 and putting your crit chance to work would probably be more beneficial over just getting a 100% crit. Though optimally you would practice until you know you'll get both for certain just from muscle memory. ^^

Thanks for posting this build, I think it has promise and if nothing else, it looks fun.

Well unfortunately it is not as awesome as I was hoping... The rotation works up until the part where you need to use Vicious Slash. I was under the impression that Berserk granted Rage between those trees, but I was wrong. If it did this rotation would be awesome, but when you are to the point of using Berserk, you don't have enough Rage to use Vicious Slash. We can probably add a few auto-attacks in there...

But you also can't use Berserk right when the rotation ends. I did my math wrong and you only have 20 stacks of Fury instead of the required 30. This shuts down the rotation unless we add a "Rage build up" phase to build fury and rage.

The damage output however is pretty high and crits were hitting for 4k+ just like planned. I'm in the process of doing very progressive raiding at the moment so I cannot test this very often, but I will try getting the rotation ironed out as much as possible.

Thats what i was worried about, theres a couple attacks in the rotation that dont spend rage so they dont build fury. Shi-cho form makes it free but that ruins half the spec... either the berserk stage would have to be set to every other run through of the rotation or the length of the rotation would have to be lengthened<something that sounds alot worse then the other option>. Annihilation has that nice talent short fuse half way up but again, that messes up half the build to make up for one of its short comings.

I'll keep checking out this thread because I think this build just needs some fine tuning, I'm hoping to see it kicking ass and taking names.

Yeah, I will work on it when we have time to do so. As soon as my Sniper gets to 50 I will be mostly using him so I should have more time to test this.

The main idea behind this is to use it as a Rotation instead of a Priority. That will make it a lot easier for some beginner players to get used to timers and CD's.

Adding a few points into Enraged Slash and Short Fuse will help your ... Fury (I'm a Sentinel =P) and Rage problem. The first reduces the amount of Rage you'll consume when you spam Vicious Slash. The second makes it so you will build more Fury when you use Rage spending abilities. Also, I would advise putting another point into Decimate since you can use the Berserk's Ataru Mode in tandem with Sweeping Slash. It'll make short work of standard melee mobs, and another 10% damage bonus wouldn't hurt, no? It'll also help your damage with Smash too =P Anyways I hope this solves the problem, I haven't checked it so it's all theory on my end.

Edit: When you hit 50 I believe it should be spread out like this;
http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#100bcZhGbRZGr0rdfM.1
Points in Dominate ensure that Smash will be a critical hit, and last point in ... Actually I took the point from Ataru Form Mastery and put them into Execute. Either would be good, but the 10% could be more useful on heavy hitting moves such as Dispatch and the improved Smash.
