The discription is a bit wrong:

The Dark Council officially recognized your authority as a Darth after you defeated Darth Baras (Sith Warrior) or Darth Thanaton (Sith Inquisitor)

Aye this one is for Sith Warrior when you complete act III of the SW storyline by killing Darth Baras.

Previously this gave you the title Emperor's Wrath. I don't know if this title is still in game but being the Emperors wrath is part of the SW story line so I'd think it's still there somewhere else they'd have to redo some of the dialoge in act III.

Jestrick, your theory is a bit flawed. Anakin was given the name Vader not because of his Darth title but because he changed from Jedi to Sith and therefore became a new person. Same happens with Han and Leia's son, Jacen, when he becomes Darth Caedus. Since our characters are already Sith, we don't really become new 'people' like they did so that is why our names won't change. Revan didn't go through the process of turning evil like most other Jedi's who fall and that is why he kept his name. His transformation didn't come until after he died later on. Malak was actually Alek when he was a Jedi, and changed his name when falling to the Dark side to avoid an arrest record.

As of the patch notes from 12/1, this title is now obtainable by Sith Warriors.

They Updated it now. Both Classes can have the "Darth" Title.

The whole renaming thing when you become darth comes from the rule of 2 in movie era lore. In TOR era were darth is merely a title of rank changing your name when you get it would be like changing your name in the military because you are now a captain.

Game mechanic wise, can you imagine the havoc it would have when you wonder why happy-bunny deleted his char and how the heck Frelinator ever got on your friends list

I don't think you do. Darth Baras is warrior's Master and if you check the other Darth title it's probably Inquisitor master so both classes(or all 4) will get Darth title after all!
Also has been confirmed in tweet by game director.

Not entirely true.

Revan and Malak seem to have kept their names when they went to the Darkside, so there is precedence

Darth Revan kept his name so you're wrong about that part

Just for this title.

Vanthorus, you seem to be quite confused and contradicting.
"The latter would be disappointing, as no Darth has ever used their own name with their new Darth title to my knowledge. I mean, imagine, "Darth Anakin", that sucks. Likewise for "Darth Bob" or "Darth Joe", you should be able to make a completely unique name like Darth Malgus, Darth Zash, Darth Baras, Darth Vader, Darth Sidious, Darth Plaguis, you get the point."
Wait. Did you just say LORD Zash has a new name when she becomes DARTH Zash? Come on dude, use your head.

I doubt many will reach 50 by the end of the current test phase to test it out :p

My question is whether Darth allows you to change your name specifically for the title or if it's just Darth <name>.

The latter would be disappointing, as no Darth has ever used their own name with their new Darth title to my knowledge. I mean, imagine, "Darth Anakin", that sucks. Likewise for "Darth Bob" or "Darth Joe", you should be able to make a completely unique name like Darth Malgus, Darth Zash, Darth Baras, Darth Vader, Darth Sidious, Darth Plaguis, you get the point.

If it isn't like this already, it should be.

Not entirely true.

Malak's real name is Alek, and Revan seems also to be a title [although no "real" name was given him for the book, so who knows?]. There are others who kept their name, however, especially in the million-and-one Sith eras.

Lame title should really be "Darth" Both Jedi Knight and Jedi Consular get the title of "Master" I don't see why Sith Warriors should be left out, disappointing.
