Sith Juggernaut

Sith who train in the stalwart arts of the Juggernaut boast unrivaled stamina in battle. Through diligence and clarity, Juggernauts shape the Force to their will to shrug off damage that would destroy others and fill foes with doubt and despair. Protecting their allies and punishing their adversaries, Juggernauts charge into the thick of any fray.

All Sith Juggernauts learn to move in heavy armor and build extra energy to perform spectacular feats. Juggernauts can opt to learn the ways of Vengeance, making them into crushing forces that pursue their prey with single-minded fury; the art of the Immortal, fearing no enemy and keeping lesser allies from harm; and Rage, subduing cowering foes with lightsaber strikes and crushing them with the Force.

I found the Juggernaut to be easy to play. As the skills develop in the advanced class, you can finally withstand major damage from your foes as well as dealing some back. Choosing advanced skills that will do additional AOE damage and build rage with activation worked very well for me.

Sith Juggernauts bring a lot to the table. Especially in objective based games. They make superb Huttball runners, with their 30 yard enemy charge, and 30 yard friendly intercede. With powerful reactive defensive cooldowns, you can turn yourself into a literal 'tank'. Recommended class for anyone who loves to protect allies, defend flags, lead charges, and suck up damage.

I leveled as a tank to have the ability to run flashpoints with guild mates and become familiar with the mechanics. It was extremely enjoyable. The use of companions makes leveling as a tank when solo completely viable, and really won't slow you down. Down Time is minimal, and DPS is solid enough that you can chug along at a great clip with either a ranged DPS, or a Ranged Healer Companion. With a Ranged Healer Companion I was able to solo all Heroic +2 Quests.

In the majority of games PVP as a tank feels useless and boring. For the first time in an MMO, I have really enjoyed a Warzone/Battleground environment as a tank. The Guard ability, in combination with player Taunts, makes you feel useful. Your defensive efforts is also captured, and tracked just like damage or kills. So, you can actually visualize your contribution to the warzone.

Find a healer, Throw Guard on him.. Taunt (don't forget your AOE Taunt either) anyone who attacks him.. Dish out all the damage Stuns, Interrupts, Knock-backs you can. Your healer will be almost untouchable, and he will have the ability to keep you both up easily. Myself and a Sith Sorc were able to hold Points on Alderan completely by ourselves when facing waves as high as 4 enemies.

When I played in Beta as a Jugg with a DPS companion I felt like I couldnt enjoy the game as much as possible. When I needed to find groups I was not able to fulfill my roll as effectively if I did not find a healer as well. I think that any Tank should get a healer as their first companion. Also I felt like my ability to hold aggro was not that great, especially at low levels. Any suggestions for skill paths?

I tried tanking on the sith warrior and I was noticing a problem with threat generation, especially on multiple mobs. I leveled to 25, does aoe threat gen get better at max level? I was also wondering if anyone tried a dps spec Jug, would be nice to hear some info on that.

Warriors should get Soresu form when they get to choose their AC, as it's a signature skill for a tanking Juggernaut. It's good that normal Black Talon is a cakewalk even for low level toons.

Sundering Assault (up to 20% armor reduction to target) should give this class a niche in Operations and Heroic Flashpoints, either as a tank or DPS. I'm wondering if it will stack with the Sniper's Shatter Shot, which also provides 20% armor reduction.

Is there any part of this page that covers what weapon proficiency? IE Double-Bladed or Duel?

@norpseldro - at level 30 you get an AoE taunt - http://www.torhead.com/ability/e27OSjK

@dwolf06 - you don't really get to "tank" as such during early levels - you are just a beefed up DPS. At lvl16 and above you'll start to get the abilities that will make you more of an effective tank in Flashpoints and group quests

A dps class leaning heavy on the tank side, will love to see this role in PvP. "Prepare to become one with the Force, Jedi."

Like any other specialization, you have to be level 10 before you can get the quest to pick a specialization.
