I have confirmed that none of the ten gift types will give 2V-R8 reputation boosts. This was probably assumed by most, but I figured I would confirm it.

With patch 1.2, you can now gain affection with 2v-R8. At 0 affection, I gave him a level 2 tech piece and received +59 affection.

As a Sith Warrior I find him greatly superior to Malavi Quinn. Quinn has a tendency to let you die because he shoots farther then he heals so when you Force Charge in you'll be out of range and he'll just autoattack like a dumbass.
Since 2V-R8 doesn't fight he's always there healing you.

Unless they changed it in the last 3 days you're wrong. My 2V-R8 is wearing the lovely implants I made for him.

After the latest patch, he will not spam those annoying voice messages anymore, meaning you can actually use him without going crazy.

I tried all ranged weapons and he is as he says the very first time you meet him a none combat droid but however as you do quests you have the option of choosing orange parts and cores for him and they are cheaper to upgrade than the blues and greens on the GM so theres alot of credits to save if you choose them. as a bounty hunter thou he should not be your healer of choice since we have mako and putting her in the right equipment will provide you with a very very very good healer not as good as a pro friend but as good as most players especially if you turn of her combat abilities.off. but again upgrading 2V-R8 is just alot of fun. so have fun guys.

A passable healer for non heroic zones if bother to gear him. The drawback is he requires upgrades every 3 - 5 levels to remain relevant and it is costly and/or time-consuming to part him out. Probably not worth it unless you are a mindless zombie grinding type.

Trying to gear this guy out a little, and as of now, Implant slots can only be filled with... *gasp* ...Implants! None of this "three (3) parts" nonsense.

**Important Note**

This guy is more irritating than thrush and acts like one of those novelty wall fish, each time you pass him he spouts some random c**p kissing your rear end.

Sadly you can't kill him, although this would be fun. Maybe he should be a Weeble.....

Either way he sits on your ship at a point you have to pass to get to the bridge.

Oh and if you are a total sadist you can use him as your companion!

I have equipped 2V-R8 with everything except the ranged item (blasters don't work, didn't try others). I'm guessing he doesn't equip anything. I know he won't attack, but it would be nice to still use the stats from an item to boost his healing.

Also, PARTS go into the implant slots, as well - not sure if this is broken or intended (makes sense that they do, however).

2V-R8's main stats are AIM and ENDURANCE.

The OFFHAND item is a TECH POWER GENERATOR. I usually gear up for critical rating/surge and/or alacrity and power/tech power. Whatever will boost his heals the most. I like crit heals!
