As of 1.2 you can now gain affection with C2-N2 - through gifts only as far as I can tell. (He does not [yet] ask to speak with you privately at affection 1000 like other companions.)

I assume something symmetric is in place on Imperial side but I haven't tested it.

M1-4X is a trooper specific companion. The torhead companion page does not include ship droids since they are not class specific. Every republic player gets a C2-N2 with their ship.

C2-N2 is the healing-focused Republic Droid Companion that you receive when you unlock your Ship. The Jedi Consular, Smuggler, Jedi Knight, and Trooper all get him.

Is there anything that can be placed in his main hand? He has no weapon proficiencies so I guess not (though he does have the proficiency for generators), but can that be changed?

He isn't an awful healer, but he does require quite a lot of gearing up, which will be much easier once you have a cyber and/or biochem (for implants). He has no offensive abilities (though I'm sure I've seen him swing a punch) so he's always focused on healing.

He seems to have very weak crafting skills; he has failed at 7 out of 8 tasks I have sent him on. Treasure Hunting so far is the only skill he seems to be able to accomplish.

I keep thinking of Andrew Robinson. He played Garak in Star Trek:DS9 and to me the voice is a perfect match.

I've also noticed that he seems to always respond with the opposite reaction when he returns from a mission. If he fails, he will be excited. If he succeeds, he is apologetic.

Maybe it's intended? Kinda silly either way.

For some reason when you choose him to do crew skill missions, his voice doesn't have the mechanical sound. Anyone else thinks he sounds like Robin Williams without the mechanical overlay to his voice?

I'm not entirely sure how the companion system works, but I noticed on the torhead companion page it says a different droid, M1-4X, as the second companion available for trooper. Is C2-N2 a Commando specific companion?

C2-N2 can gain 'NO' affection.

Pity, it makes him a weak link for crafting.
