Gunslinger

Master of the trick shot, the first to dive for cover and able to take advantage of every opportunity, the Gunslinger and his dual blasters are the perfect team. There's a right target for ending every disagreement, and the Gunslinger knows enemy vulnerabilities like the inside of his ship.

All Gunslingers learn how to fire two blasters at once, specializing in long-range combat and methods to keep enemies at a distance. Gunslingers can also opt to learn the skills of the Saboteur, using grenades and demolitions technology that cause fire damage and ignore enemy armor; the Sharpshooter, shooting from cover and focusing on precise, high-damage attacks; and Dirty Fighting, crippling and bleeding opponents using underhanded tactics.

After playing a few MMOs i must say this as well as the Imperial version are one of the most unique experiences in PvP due to cover. Having it lets you move quick your cover spot then gives you a boost in offense and defense and allows you most fantastic moves but having motion cancel this allows for dynamic spontaneity that will allow you to dominate or force you to fail in PvP. While both smugglers posses this the gunslinger furthers it while the Scoundrel dampens it to an extent.

I see everyone on here going Sabo, but in my experience Gunslingers always been better for my dps (Not to mention I enjoy it more). I played GS from 10 to 50 and have nly tried Sab once or twice and only did any decent damage with them in pvp. To be honest, at 50 I can put out 12-15k DPS is 5 seconds with just speed shot, and I haven't managed to get those sorts of numbers from Sabo.

Which probably means you were looking at single target damage. If you throw a grenade into a group of mobs you may not get a damage number reading OMGWTFBBQ, but you will still be doing massive damage, spread between all targets.

Saboteur is an AOE focused character.

I played this class up to lvl 23 in the Nov.11th Beta weekend and loved every minute of it. This class in the right hands can absolutely rock the PvP warzones. Almost every match (all but about 2) I was top damage dealer and had very few deaths.

Notes on Saboteur
- Effective as of Nov 25th Beta Weekend -

At level 27, I was not doing "TOP" damage, but was doing well enough to hold my own against all of the others in Warzones. The major plus to the Saboteur is the amount of AoE abilities they get.

I could basically interrupt people as much as I wanted, between Thermal Grenade and Flurry of Bolts when people were trying to arm/disarm the doors in Void Star, Cap the Control Points in Alderaan. It was pretty fun.

I'm going to get my _guide_ up for Gunslinger - Saboteur soon. Need to edit it a bit though.

Like any other specialization, you have to be level 10 before you can get the quest to pick a specialization.

Im with you on that im gonna make a Sabo/D.F. hybrid got up to lvl 23 during the beta and had an absolute blast! Im gonna make a youtube channel dedicated to my charc and guild if i decide to make a guild. Gunslinger for life lol!
