Not only is this ability useful for entering and escaping combat, but in Warzones it also allows you to reach PvP control points and objectives faster than your enemies. "It feels like your running at an incredible rate, Harry!"

2 seconds doesn't seem like much, but it's a really useful ability to get into combat fast, escape, and just walking between quests. The tank talent to lower the cool down is well worth it. I use it all the time.

Speaking as a Shadow-Infiltration @ 39th level playing v2.8: Keeping in mind that we are light armored ninjas who work the rear to the front when playing in a group - Force Speed will get you to the rear of the enemy group in stealth quickly. Otherwise the battle could be half over by the time I get back there in movement reducing stealth/combat speed. My preference is to get back to the rear before the combat happens, but that is only if the group mates think it important enough to wait on me. If I do start out in the rear behind a ranged target when the group attacks, I take him out - then there will usually be another ranged person at the other corner "of the box". Getting to them in a reasonable amount of time requires Force Speed.
In PvP, a person can go on and on about what you can do with Force Speed. One word of caution is that this is not an automatic escape ability. If you need to escape, Force Speed is important, but you will need to break LOS and cloak and change direction and things like that to get away from a shark smelling blood. If I am in the open and it is a foot race, I think the next best thing is to run towards the spawn location for your team until you meet a respawn who can mix it up with your pursuer.
