Actually, this is untrue. You cannot put a Charge on an electrostaff. Which means for tanking (Darkness) specced Assassins, you cannot use Dark Charge at -all-, making it completely useless. That also goes for any other Charge. I've heard (but not personally confirmed) that the same is true of the Shadow equivalent to the Charges.
Edit: When I say 'this is untrue' I'm referring to kaziski's post, above mine, which states that "The only trees that actually requires Double-bladed Lightsabers are the Infiltrator tree for the Jedi Shadow and the Deception tree for the Sith Assassin (stealth and stabby specs)."
Electrostaves are far from useless. The only trees that actually requires Double-bladed Lightsabers are the Infiltrator tree for the Jedi Shadow and the Deception tree for the Sith Assassin (stealth and stabby specs).
To be fair, the Electrostaff wouldn't have the same effect as a Lightsaber when stabbing (see video from extended universe).
