While active, the guarded player takes 5% less damage and generates 25% less threat. In addition, so long as you remain within 15 meters of the guarded player, 50% of all incoming damage from enemy players is transferred back to you. Requires Ion Gas Cylinder.

Note: Damage and healing values are based off a level 50 character in green gear. Our staff are still adjusting and adding effects to the formulas, so bear with us as we continue to improve these numbers for launch.

This is similar to a stance, very useful in Huttball Warzone when someone else is carrying the ball. Also useful on the healer so when he is not healing he can toss out some DPS. Pretty useful in any group situation.

You toss it on your Highest mele DPS to reduce their threat and help them mitigate damage. You put it on the mele DPS so that uptime is always at 100%.

I'm having trouble seeing how this helps in PvP - threat isnt a mechanic so all you'd get is a damage reduction on someone who may or may not always be nearby. Meh at best for PvP - but definitely a very beneficial flashpoint/operation ability.

If you cast it on the player with the ball, the enemy team has to make more than the double ammount of damage to kill him. He gets 5% less damage overall and 50% of the damage is transfered to you instead.
If I'm get the spell mechanic correctly from the description.

I dont know if this helps anyone but i thought the 50 percent damage reduction was for "pve" as well but its JUST for "pvp" and man is it nice.

30m range on the cast.
15m range before target can benefit from it.
Do not absorb Nps (Non-Player Character) damage, only Damage from other Players.
