Got this Force Cloak and Blackout all lined up next to each other..if a situation hits the fan....Blow this to remove any DoTs that would otherwise break stealth followed by Force Cloak and I like to tag Blackout in there just for added support...then you can blow your Force Speed to get far away from the situation at hand! Great for slipping away from a fight you know you can't win(you know like some cheap Imp/sith trying to gank you right after you pull a group of elites! Cheap, yes....BUT SMART!

The comments so far seem focused on PvP. However, this is an excellent PvE tanking cooldown, especially when paired with the Mind Over Matter skill, making it 5 seconds. It resists all Force and Tech attacks, which is invaluable for bosses that you know are going to blast you with a very high tech or force attack. (For those ex-WoW players, this is akin to the Death Knight's personal Anti-Magic Shell.)

This was definitely to be in my Shadow PvP build [Mind over Matter] but... I think I have misread it!
I was seeing this as boosting immunity to 100% ie invincible but now I see that this could mean increasing your resistance by 2, ie 10% resistance increased to 20% which makes this only a tank ability, no wonder it is in the defense tree.. so it seems this would only be used for dispelling in PvP making the increased duration from [Mind over Matter] unimportant

actually I see this line in the spell effects table: ModifyStat: AmountMin=>2, Stat=>Tech Defense, AmountMax=>2 so it does seem to be only doubling what you already have... (multiply by 2.0)
SetDescription: Description=>"Immune to force and tech." is a bit confusing though, as you would not be immune, just resistant

What is the base force & tech resistance chance for a non tank Shadow anyway? and how is it increased?

Question: where did you find this table? Or did you decompile the program in some way to find that info? Trying to dabble a bit in theorycrafting, but I am apparently full of the dumbs when it comes to finding solid information... XD

On torhead pages there is a link "Effect details" , it's right above these comments, I only noticed it a couple days ago myself :) but it gives some info on how spells work

I think I am wrong though as I watched a PvP vid with a Shadow and he used this ability in a 1v2 and there was a dozen 'resist' 'resist' etc while it was active so it seems to be total immunity after all

Speaking as a Shadow-Infiltration @ 42nd level playing v2.8:
- I want to support Shmaty's comments about putting Resilience next to Cloak.
- If I open my character window and hover my mouse over "Defense Chance" there are two line items in the pop up titled "Resistance". This is resistance against Force Attacks and Tech Power attacks. When I trigger Resilience - I see these numbers go from 0% to 200%.
- This does not remove Stuns.
