This ability IS basicly something you use instead of Rifle shot if your energy is full? Wouldn't you rather lob a granade or something like that? Not sure If I'm suposed to keep this on my bars or if it is for ops only.

Unlike every other class in game, sniper energy (class resource) regen is complete *!@#. You have to maintain more than 2/3rd of your energy bar, otherwise you get fked, the regen rate is garbage. So this ability is useless. It does 25% more damage than your autoattack, but costs energy. Dont use it.
I have a level 50BH and 50 Sith Inquisitor, level 17 Jedi Sage. Combat never felt slow, or limited by my resource on any of those classes. This class is complete %^&*. At least as a sniper, you use cover a lot, and some of the incoming damage is mitigated. I don't know how Ops play this !@#$.

Unlike every other class in game, sniper energy (class resource) regen is complete ^&*!.
Awe... you poor baby. Its not unlike EVERY other class because there are ALWAYS two of each resource per base class and the sniper's counterpart is the Operative and the jedi's side are called smugglers. On top of that simple minded comment the regen is the same as ops. If you are going to make a blanket statement make while complaining make sure its correct first. Ops got a pretty severe nerf recently because people whined and complained about how they kept getting killed by ops. So they nerfed the one knockdown ability (that mind you needs to be used while IN stealth, Behind the target, by 1 specific ability and was one of the only advantages we had) and then cut that ability's damage by 20% AND the armor pen of following abilities by 20% and we still are useful.
Just because you don't know how to manage your resources doesn't make it crap it just means you need to stop whining and learn how to play.
When WoW came out there were no Death Knights and when they did come out people said the same thing. Whine more cause Heat actually sucks more than energy and its still perfectly viable.
So this ability is useless. It does 25% more damage than your autoattack, but costs energy. Dont use it.
Second see Rifle Shot and note that there is no, as you say, "autoattack" in SWTOR. The Auto part of autoattack implies it does something "automatically" in which sense you don't need to take an action for it to occur. This does not happen in SWTOR as you have to actually press EVERY SINGLE BUTTON to perform ANY action of any kind.

Also if you simply fail at understanding a class its ok... simple answer is to either read a book on it, practice some more or uninstall the game and stop trolling.
In any case this ability for the Ops class gains a damage boost (noted in the skills as Skirmisher) giving this ability slightly more edge and hitting harder than your "autoattack" (aka Rifle Shot). Not only that but the math on this site is WAYYYY off. This actually does nearly double the damage of your Rifle Shot if you actually look in game. Its more like 40-45% more so its WELL worth using it as it was intended (read below)
Sniper's don't gain that. To top it off its not designed to be spammed its a filler.
Ultimately the point is to manage your Energy appropriately and this can help maximize your damage. If you have extra energy (which I do from proper use of abilities) you are sometimes left with a gap in knife abilities and this is a gap closer to do more damage than Rifle shot in the same time frame. If you happen to need to keep the energy then of course you would use Rifle shot instead (aka proper use of abilities and resource management).
So stop blocking out your expletives and learn what things do before you go blathering out some random stuff. Every ability in the game has some use whether its as good as another ability or not. Some abilities get used once every 20 minutes too but that doesn't make them less useful. chill out man.
Lastly BOTH of those "classes" use Force. only 4 classes in the game out of 16 total (or really only 2/8) use force. So what you mean to say is that the warrior classes, gun using classes and agent type classes all suck because they don't use force energy? Your generalization of this only goes to show that you have no intentions of learning how to play the game and just want to whine. Maybe you should go play Hello Kitty or something, it better suits the age group you are complaining like.
