From leveling experience I can tell that this spell will be your main spam button as Lighting specced Sorcerer (3/31/7). Once you pick up all the relevant talents from the skill tree (level 32), this spell will start doing some great damage. In my opinion (no numbers to prove it unfortunately), when you face a strong mob start a fight with Affliction, then Thundering Blast, then spam Lightning Strike until you get an instant Chain Lightning or until Affliction crits and you get a 50% faster Force Lightning. Once TB is off CD, cast it again. Don't forget to keep Affliction rolling (TB will crit on a target with Affliction as well).
Leave Shock and Crushing Darkness for very situational use. Since both of those spells only get benefit from talents in Madness tree, it seems that they won't be a part of a raiding Lightning Sorcerer rotation.
