I don't know why but Torhead has a bunch of channeled abilities like this one listed as instant. This ability is channeled 3 seconds (minus any alacrity). The sniper equivalent is series of shots.

Solid filler DPS ability for all 3 gunslinger specs.
For Sharpshooters, you want to use it frequently as it has a good chance of giving you the Quick Aim buff, making your next Aimed Shot activate quicker.
For Saboteurs, it is best to use it after a Sabotage charge, as it is an excellent way to set off contingency charges. You will pop 2 or 3 bombs in one speed shot.
For Dirty fighting, it's a good filler anility to use inbetween the 9 sec Wounding Shots cooldowns. It's also good to use when there's no time or no point to build up your DoTs and you just need some basic guranteed damage on a target who is going down.
