I find this ability to be pretty much worthless (PTS 1.2). 1 in 10 times might you have the ability to be removed completely from combat and stay that way. More often than not, it just blinks you out of combat and immediately sucks you right back into it.
For one, any damage-over-time effect on you will cancel the effect before the enemy attacking you has time to reset, so it's like your "combat drop" never happened. You're still being attacked even if you're 300 yards from the enemy's place of origin.
Two, any ranged attack that is in flight when you activate the ability, will break it as soon as it lands. Now consider what percentage of enemies in this game have a ranged attack. And, again, same as my first point - Enemies do not forgot you in that brief amount of time. They will continue to pursue you.
What you have here is a novelty ability that MIGHT work and save you some fighting so you can just jump back on your speeder and keep going. But, for the love of all, do not depend on it or make any tactical decisions involving it (like running through a hallway of 20 mobs then using it disappear and avoid fighting them to save time). Chances are, this ability will only rarely save your life. Until they make changes to the mechanics of it, it's just a toy. A frustrating toy.
