Force Lift

Force Lift
Activation: 2 secs
Force: 20
Cooldown: 60s
Range: 30 m
Lifts the target helplessly into the air, preventing all action for up to 8 seconds. Non-player, non-standard and non-weak targets heal rapidly while lifted out of harm's way. Damage will break the effect prematurely.

Note: Damage and healing values are based off a level 50 character in green gear. Our staff are still adjusting and adding effects to the formulas, so bear with us as we continue to improve these numbers for launch.

Duration increases to 60 seconds for Sages, allowing you to maintain Force Lift indefinitely. Arguably the best CC in the game currently.

Small warning, if you have a companion with AoE damage abilities like "Qyzen Fess" with "Hunter's Surge" or "EMP Blast", it'll break this effect.
You have a few options:
1 - Turn off those AoE powers
2 - Wait until he's used them, and pop off "Force Lift" afterwards.
3 - Come up with a strategy that doesn't rely on "Force Lift" functioning very long, if at all.
4 - Make sure he's attacking a foe/group far enough away that he won't disrupt the "Force Lift".

Too bad there isn't an AI function to tell them to avoid breaking these types of effects.

This works great in pvp but the enemy will get out in less that 60 seconds because all players have an ability to remove a "stun"
Think of it more as another stun/interrupt and it's utility is clear. Adding 2 points in the sage balance tree (containment) that reduces activation makes this instant. Don't bother with the points that will lift a second lower combatant as there are no lower combatants in pvp. Also, another 2 points can be added in the TK tree (blockout) to reduce cool down from 1 min to 45 sec.

I have escaped death several times using lift after they escaped stun and use it as another interrupt for spell casters/healers. If the combatant has already used their ability to release from a stunn they may hang for a few seconds unless thy get damage. Using on players outside the main action decreases the chance they will get hit by an AoE attack and hence released.

This ability is great to use before entering a large battle.

Use this first before using other CCs (Force Stun, etc) as it has a somewhat long casting time.

Damage to this CC (Crowd Control) target will break the CC.

I was under the impression this did not work in PvP as a 60 second stun would be too strong
I've seen it used in videos though but it does not seem to hold players for the full 60 seconds, more like only several. what's the calculation for how long it will hold a player? or is it random?

Anyone know which ability is the one that slams opponents to the ground? I was under the impression the target has to be under the effects of Force Lift. JC uses it in the progression video, and there are some references on fan sites about this move, but I cant find it anywhere.

I thought it was named "Slam" or "Force Slam"

I believe Project used to be a lift slam move, but it was changed, he uses rock project in the progression video though so it must be after that change, if you mean when he lifts that insect like creature, I think it is just a force lift then a Force in Balance AoE, just judging by the graphic on the ground.

There is a little yellow eruption animation in the center of the 3 enemies (not under the lifted enemy), before the ground animation which also leads me to believe it is an aoe targeted at the center

I think he is just showing off with the lift, as he one shots them anyway :)
