If Bone Shield and Holy Shield had a baby, this would be it.
It has charges that are used up on hit like bone shield, and it increases shield chance like holy shield.
The improvement over both of these WoW abilities is that the cooldown is 3/5 of the uptime, potentially giving 100% uptime.
If all the charges are used during the 12 second cooldown and you're not dead, then you know you got your 10 Force worth.
This is NOT tied to the GCD; I always try to use it right after another ability so I don't lose any time with getting the other abilities off.

While it states level 1 it is in reality not available before you hit level 20 through the talent in the darkness three. The Jedi Shadow equivalent is
