This is a pretty nice building block to Imperial Agent healing. When specced appropriately it is highly advised to keep it up as much as possible. It has the ability to proc tactical advantage and that can lead to some free heals with surgical probe. It helps save energy and improve output.
It also stacks to two. But with more probes out (On multiple people) it has a higher chance to proc tactical advantage.
