Edit: This is roughly 50% stronger than [Double Strike] & also scales significantly better with strength/weapon damage
condition IfCasterPositioning: PositionedLeft=>1, PositionedBehind=>1, PositionedRight=>1
& apparently you can use it towards the sides of an opponent which will make it easier to land in a frantic battle
Shockrah is actually incorrect on his assessment of Thrash vs. Maul as well. According to the tooltips he listed, the average damage for Thrash would actually be 2263, not 1131.5 since it hits twice for the listed amount.
Depending on your spec you may get more mileage out of Thrash than Maul and vice versa. So technically, Lighthat and Shockrah are both wrong.
Typical backstab ability. As mentioned take Duplicity to make it efficient (like rogue assassination talents in WoW).
This isn't wow. In fact the only thing that makes this "considered" a backstab is the fact that you have to be behind the target to use it. However, Backstab is exactly like backstab since it Actually IS Backstab and this is SWTOR and not WoW.
Can you people break away from WoW to make posts on this Star Wars game for even 1 post? dosn't look like it from Navystylz.
This ability costs half your bar (unless you grab Deceptive power) and really requires the use of Duplicity to work properly due to the extremely high cost and low damage (in comparison to other similar abilities for the same force cost total) and the facing requirement. If you get off a duplicity proc its well worth half its original cost to use and if paired with induction and crits it does pretty decent damage.
Useless to use if you don't have a proc for this ability, for two reasons
1) Thrash does more damage (For me, at least) and has a chance to crit twice
2) This costs double the force
Even if it did cost 25 force i would use Thrash if i didn't have the proc. The proc increases armor penetration, which is a good increase to heavily-armored targets.

yet again another bad idea from Lightthat.
If this ability would cost 25 energy and didn't have the armor pen bonus you would still use this over thrash for this reason:
Averages:
Maul damage = ~1865
Thrash damage = ~1131
Maul Alone WITHOUT the armor pen would do approximately and on average 65% more damage for the same force cost as Thrash. With different talents (not getting duplicity and/or it not being proced, getting claws of decay and thrashing blades AND torment and having thrash crit) thrash "could" do more if it crits but never for the same cost without criting. Duplicity alone makes this more than worth using when it procs and induction makes this a top priority when duplicity procs. As a tank you wouldn't be able to use maul anyways (the target is always facing you) unless it was stunned and there are still other abilities to use better for the cost as a tank and if you are deception speced you wouldn't ever use thrash (after level 40) but would still use Maul when duplicity procs. Your comparisons are terrible and wrong, Lightthat, please stop giving "advice" because it's always misleading and incorrect.
